You’re my favorite perennial,
having come with the spring flowers,
fresh and welcoming.
But unlike the flowers,
you did not wither come winter.
We chose to bond together,
weathering the storms,
singing in the rain and
basking in the sunshine.
You’re the bright spot
in my garden of life.

Thank you for visiting and for the nice compliments. I think using fewer lines with well-chosen words is challenging to all poets.
Wow, this is beautiful. I love the simple structure of the lines, and the empowering adjectives. Would you maybe check out some of my poems? I need an expert eye.
