Inspired by trees in Fall,
I’d like to undertake a change,
to drop an old habit or two,
leaving me open to new growth.
Worry would be nice to drop
as I sit here wringing my hands;
But it would need to be replaced–
I’ll try hugging my best friend.
Procrastination is another,
especially about exercise;
I’ll try walking by a mirror–
Then I’ll walk around the block.
Like Fall, I transition forward.
Seasoned along the way, new
habits to replace the old are
forming like fresh Spring buds.
So much easier to write than practice it.
