I see spikes sticking out from stems
Crumbly and dry, crushed on one side;
Once a green weed, growing gargantuan,
Now a tumbleweed, traveling to town.

I remember when I lived in the country, we would be bombarded by tumbleweeds each fall, but the winds this Spring have brought a few to the city.
